This magazine is intended as a showcase for work of various sorts in the area of weird fiction, especially that in the oeuvre of H. P. Lovecraft and his coterie of friends and correspondents. Essays, verse, images as well as fiction are welcome in these pages. I aim to include interviews at some point alongside the review column. The content is myriad and diverse, hopefully providing as much information and entertainment as you are looking for.

Don't be afraid to submit an item for consideration; the Mythos is wide, far larger than just a shared-world anthology.

As a concept, the Cthulhu Mythos is not fixed in time, situation or environment. The horrors are open to all. This provides a rich fabric to work with. It gives the imagination real freedom in creating the framework of a creation. There are a few staples in the Mythos; the god aliens, the books, and most of all the revelations in a tale. Be it man realising his place in the universe, the breaking down of old perceptions and creation of new ones. It doesn't matter what the scenario, a good Mythos tale will contain a revelation of some sort. Even if it is just the translation of a person from living to dead.

The Black Book aims to provide a quality source of material for the reader. To supply information in an easily accessible form that you can download and read at a point you choose, without having to stay logged on to do so. All that is required is the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software.
